  1. On leg 11, I was one of the runners who got off course just south of the exchange point in South Bend. The route is good, as long as there is clear signs marking the route or volunteers directing runners where you convert from the trail to gravel roads at the parking lot off the trail.

  2. Thanks. Good point I think we will spray paint a line from the trail to the gravel this year. It sounded like it was confusing for multiple people.

  3. I was a follow the crowd wrong turn guy as well.. Check my aaronhouseholder blogspot about it.

Anyhow, without pulling out my book from '08 it looks like you cut the brutal 5 miles into the wind (stages 12 & 13 above) into two shorter stages & lengthened some other previous stages. Is that a good quick assessment?

Will these changes better suit smaller teams of 6 or 7 with better trained runners?

How many teams are you thinking for '09? And do we--08 competitiors--get a first shot before the general public? We don't want to miss this race! It was a great day. Thanks so much for your all your planning, effort, & leadership.

  4. Is there any way to transfer some of the 5.7 miles in 6 to stage 7, and some of #11's 4.6 to #12?

My group really liked that few legs were over 5 miles and I think this would help to balance out the total miles a little.

Our runner took a wrong turn on #11 as well, so I echo the request for better marking there, it also was one of the most brutal runs due to wind & hills.

While the church was a good marker for an exchange point it was very busy on that road, is there room to move it off of Mynard road instead? This would extend the 2.6 miler that follows, and we noticed on legs less than 3 miles it was a rush to get to the next exchange in time.
